Explain how you do this with the GDC calculations for this 27 term series, using TI-84 seq and sum functions. Use GDC screenshots.
Step 1: Press [2ND] then [STAT]
Step 2: Click once on the arrow to the right to move to OPS and press [5] to select the fifth option.
Step 3: Type in the expression to the right of sigma into Expr:, changing whatever variable utilized in the expression to x; place x into Variable:; place the lower limit of the summation (below sigma) into start:; place the upper limit (above sigma) into end:; place 1 into step:; finally, select Paste.
Step 4: You now have your sequence.
Step 5: Press [2ND] then [STAT]. Then, press the arrow to the right twice to move to MATH and press [5] to select the fifth option.
Step 6: Now that Sum( has appeared on the screen, press [2ND] [(-)] to place Ans into the parenthesis and press [ENTER] to obtain the result of the sum.
Step 7: You now have the result for your summation.
