Write down the 2 rules of integration (from p468) you use to solve part a, demonstrating how the similar integration in part a is found to be -4 using the initial information. Assuming that the definite integral is calculating an area under a “curve”, draw a positive function f(x) (does not have to be a curve) which has the appropriate area between x=1 and 5 using grid paper. Using a sketch, show how the function 3f(x) has area 12. By calculating the area from x=0 to 5, then x=0 to 1, show the integral in part a results in a negative area.
